Shakuhachi
A
Shakuhachi player and musicologist, David started studying the shakuhachi
as an exchange student in Japan in 1977. He •²returned to Japan as a Japanese
Education Ministry graduate scholar at the Tokyo University of Fine Arts
and Music where he received his MA in Musicology in 1985. Since 1982,
David has been performing, teaching, and writing about shakuhachi and
Japanese traditional music both in Japan and around the world. He now
resides in Boulder, Colorado.
